The
patented Track Access System or TAS was designed
to enable rubber tyred or tracked road rail machines
to:

Get on and off track safely. 2. Avoid damage to equipment, the
railhead and trackside troughing. 3. Quick and easy to install and
use. 4. Durable and versatile.
It is the only such
system approved by Network Rail andin
use throughout the network today.
This
system has been designed to enable road rail vehicles and
equipment to mount or cross the rail quickly and safely.
Versions are available to handle all weights and types of
road railers from Land Rovers to steel tracked dozers. There
is now no excuse for accidents caused by sliding off old
wooden sleepers or for damaging the troughing.
All the components are
easily man handled.
No tools are required for
installation or removal, both done in minutes.
If damaged, the robust
componentry is desiged for easy repair or
replacement.
THE
RAILHEAD REMAINS OPEN AT ALL TIMES
At
the heart of the system are 1.2mtr flexible ramps
which drop down to locate over the pandrol clips.
Punched and embossed, they are self cleaning and give
excellent grip. The ramps can be linked to ‘traction
mats’ in the cess to stabilise loose ballast
where necessary and provide excellent traction.
Additionally,
the ramps link with ‘troughing bridges’
to give complete protection to vulnerable lineside
cabling and ducting. When linked with four foot ‘fillers’
you have an immediate and secure crossing as well
as a safe way to mount low ground clearance vehicles
on to the rail.
The access ramps are punched and embossed to give good
grip and are self cleaning. Old sleepers and the like
can be lethally slippery, especially in wet slippery conditions
and everyone who uses road railers is familiar with ripped
side walls and the damage that can be inflicted on the
rail or troughing. This system tackles all those problems
effectively.
The fillers placed in the four foot,
provide a quick portable crossing. Effectively, the fillers
level the four foot but they can be placed anywhere, inside
or outside the track, where a firm base and good traction
are needed. Equally, they can be quickly laid down to
make a solid pedestrian walkway or route for wheeling
portable equipment up to and across the track. Hauling
around old baulks of timber is a thing of the past. What
traditionally has often taken hours can now be accomplished
in minutes.
The
illustration on the left hand side is a RAILHEAD SHIELD,
which clips over the rail and enables steel tracked
equipment, eg dozers to mount / cross the track with
impunity. The Rail Head Shield is used to protect
the iron work from the abrasive effect of heavy tracked
vehicles whilst traversing on or over the line.
The Crawler Ramp Kit was developed for use with smaller
tracked vehicles, but is also ideal for most road rail
machinery. Supplied on its own Ramp Tree, the kit packs
away into its custom made frame making transport of the
ramps safe and easy. A series of padlocks on the frame
keep the ramps secure when not in use.

Track Access System (Universal) ::
New
for 2008, the Universal Track Access
System is the latest addition to our range of track
access equipment. It is our heaviest duty system yet and
with our customary rapid installation time, we are confident
that this system will provide a superb all round solution
to the on and off tracking of road rail vehicles.
The
new Universal Track Access System is ideal for renewals
sites and will support wheeled and tracked
machines up to 50 tonnes. Please see the
following specifications for more details.
New Universal Track Access System
- 1 centre deck section
Ramp sections are no heavier than approximately
1.0 tonne per item.
The full ramp kit consists of 2 outer ramp sections
and 1 inner deck section with 2 dig to deck ramps.
Standard ramp sections are 4 metres in length,
but can be customised.
Can be deployed in just 3/5 lifts by an excavator/crane
with lifting chains.
